Feedback Unit 6: Complementary Medicine

Hi Brittany, Thank you and your group for the information presented on the website page, Complementary Medicine regardingAdolescence. The website page design is consistent with your prior themes.  I love how the design flows, with a simplistic, clean, and inviting flow for the reader. Starting with a strong graphic specific to the topic proved informative and appropriate for the introduction as well as per section. Discussion of premenstrual syndrome (PMS) is thorough and offers information that will be helpful to medical professionals as well as the respective population. I have never heard of Chasteberry and found this information both fascinating and promising.  Understanding the benefits it has for PMS management, as well as becoming aware of the additional antioxidative and anti-inflammatory benefits of Chasteberry.  Both supporting infographics and video media used in this section is relevant to the topic and concise to support the  evidence-based descript...

Feedback Unit 4 (Website Activity 3_Interplay of Food & Body)

Hi Brittany! Thank you and your group for the information presented on the website page regarding the interplay of food & body for the female adult. I can tell that you all placed a large effort toward the beautiful aesthetics of this website page.  Each section is vibrant and inviting for the reader.  The discussion of the relationship of food to the female body is thorough and reflective of important changes during adulthood.  Outlining the effect of food on perimenopause for the sake of well-being captures one of the most popular topics for women in this age range regarding health management.  It was good to see you capture the complex social dynamics and need for self-awareness/acceptance still present in adulthood. This information was well rounded with the video outlining nutrition for hormonal support.   I feel the media choices and placement in this section are relevant and relatable to the topic.  Headings and subheadings are visible and w...

Unit 2 Feedback-Childhood psychosocial female mind

Hi Brittany!      I enjoyed going through this life stage on the website because I have previous experience working as a pediatric occupational therapist. I like how organized you and your group's page is, with the headings I was able to navigate through it without feeling lost or confused. The writing style was clear and easy to follow. All the required elements were included and you provided just the right amount of information in each section so the reader does not feel overwhelmed. I did not come across any spelling or grammatical errors and the terminology was easy to understand. Having images and videos also assists with summarizing the information that was presented. I found the information presented useful for healthcare providers; as I mentioned before, as a pediatric occupational therapist I had many female clients in the age range of 6-12. Each of my clients had different backgrounds, upbringing, and conditions. They all had different personalities and di...

Blog Activity Review for Unit 1 - Female Body in Adolescence

Hi Brittany, I reviewed the blog you and your team members completed on the physical differences between boys and girls during adolescence. The information presented on this topic was informative, colorful, and well-organized, with pictures and videos supporting your findings. The information you all provided creates a better and more in-depth understanding of the adolescence stage of life, which will assist healthcare practitioners in developing a plan of care and intervention unique to females in that stage of life. I just have a few suggestions regarding the outline of the web page. I would suggest breaking the topic into headlines as outlined in the assignment to make the posts more organized. This would also help ensure you are not missing any subheadings requested for the assignment. In addition to using the same fonts, using the same theme color for the letters would also be helpful. References could also be more legible as well. Overall, you and yo...

Introduction

Hi everyone! My name is Brittany Lawrence and I was born and raised in Chicago, but have resided in Georgia for the last 7.5 years. I received my MSOT from Brenau University. I have been an occupational therapist for a little over 3.5 years, primarily in the pediatric field. My areas of practice have been the outpatient setting and the school system. In August of 2023, I opened up my own private practice where I will focus on providing therapeutic services/support to the maternal population as well as continuing to treat the early intervention population.  My favorite city is Chicago of course!😉 Although the cold is unforgiving, it is such a beautiful place to explore. I have done quite a bit of traveling (it keeps me sane), but I can't say that I have a favorite place. Put me on a beach with clear blue water, and I'm in heaven! One thing that I love about me is my resilience. I have faced many trials in life, starting from the age of 3. However, I have always managed to pic...
