Introduction
Hi everyone!
My name is Brittany Lawrence and I was born and raised in Chicago, but have resided in Georgia for the last 7.5 years. I received my MSOT from Brenau University. I have been an occupational therapist for a little over 3.5 years, primarily in the pediatric field. My areas of practice have been the outpatient setting and the school system. In August of 2023, I opened up my own private practice where I will focus on providing therapeutic services/support to the maternal population as well as continuing to treat the early intervention population.
My favorite city is Chicago of course!😉 Although the cold is unforgiving, it is such a beautiful place to explore. I have done quite a bit of traveling (it keeps me sane), but I can't say that I have a favorite place. Put me on a beach with clear blue water, and I'm in heaven!
One thing that I love about me is my resilience. I have faced many trials in life, starting from the age of 3. However, I have always managed to pick myself up and keep pushing toward achieving my goals.
By the end of this course, I hope to have a complete understanding of women's health and wellness, and have clear guidance on how I can incorporate that knowledge into the services that I provide to the maternal population in my community.
Thanks,
Brittany
Hi Brittany, I would like to learn more about your process with opening your own private practice. The idea has been on my mind for a while but I keep going back and forth with it. I also do not have any experience with the maternal population; I'm excited to learn and grow more as a person and therapist! Good luck.
ReplyDeleteHello! nice to meet you! good luck with your private practice! that is something I want to look in to eventually! I am also hoping to have a better understanding about women's health.
ReplyDeleteHello Brittany, I enjoyed reading your post. Though originally from Nigeria, I am also from Chicago (Northside - Go Cubs!). Kudos to you for already opening up your private practice. We also have more things in common as I have worked in the pediatric setting and aim to open my private practice focusing on pelvic health.
ReplyDeleteHi Brittany! I love that you have your own private practice, it is something I have thought about, but never had the courage to start. Wishing you much success!
ReplyDeleteHi Brittany! We have quite a bit in common regarding past places of residency and love for the beach:) I enjoyed learning from you last semester and looking forward to the continuation. Best to you!
ReplyDeleteHi Brittany, Maternal services and early intervention are such great settings to make a big difference in people's lives. Kudos for opening your own practice and focusing on this area. Chicago is fabulous being in Michigan I visit often. Looking forward to working with you!

Hi Brittany,
I am overjoyed and grateful for the opportunity to participate in this Women's Health course, and based on your introduction, I believe you share these same sentiments! Likewise, you and I share the same end goal: we wish to acquire new knowledge about women's health that we can implement in future clinical practice with this client population. I look forward to getting to know you and collaborating with you throughout this course!
